learn to swim

Sleaford Swimming Clubs primary aim is to teach people the life skill of swimming. We are affiliated to the STA (Swimming Teachers Association) and we run the Swim England award system. You can gain your swim safety awards with the Ducklings programme and then move through Stages 1-9, we also run distance badge nights throughout the year up to 5000m.

Swimmers are allocated a swim session and group within that session dependant on their ability and the availability at the Club. This decision will be jointly made by the senior swim teachers.

We take on all ages and abilities of swimmers from the age of 5. If you are unsure of what stage your swimmer is at, please give us as much information as possible, when a space is available we will recommend the correct session time and always assess the swimmer before allocating a group.

All swimmers will be progressed through the stages in line with the Learn to Swim Swim England syllabus and will be awarded certificates and badges based on their achievements that are available to purchase as and when complete from the desk in reception.

We are a non-competitive club, we concentrate on teaching children the life skill of swimming, while having fun. Many of our swimmers are good enough to, and do, swim competitively. We are happy to sign post to other local clubs if this is something you would like information on, or, we feel that your swimmer is showing potential and ability to venture into the world of competitive swimming then we will discuss this with you.
